Chiefs Update 6 - Week 4

The Chiefs defeat Tampa Bay 41-31

Coming off a disappointing Week 3 loss in Indianapolis, the Chiefs were angry and were ready to tear up their next opponent, the Buccaneers. The carnage started immediately as the first kick return of the game resulted in a Buccaneers fumble, setting the Chiefs up in the red zone to score immediately on a Travis Kelce touchdown. Patrick Mahomes, not surprisingly, took the fans by storm throwing for 249 yards, three touchdowns, and a 62% completion percentage. Mahomes shocked fans with two passes that looked like he was shooting a basketball. The pass went viral on all social media platforms, once again proving to the league that the Chiefs, are still Superbowl contenders. Clyde Edwards-Helaire was the Chiefs leading rusher, running for 92 yards on 19 carries. The Chiefs seem to have found their "stride" in their running game, with a combined total of 189 yards rushing for the team. Travis Kelce was the teams leading receiver with 92 yards. The Chiefs come back to Kansas City to host the Raiders on Monday night.

Chiefs' head coach Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes

star in a State Farm commercial

One thing Patrick Mahomes has not done in his young but amazing career is bring Andy Reid on to a commercial. It is a well-known fact that Patrick Mahomes is quite the actor, he has been in commercials for Hy-Vee, Head and Shoulders, and State Farm just to name a few. Recently, in a new ad for State Farm, Mahomes brought Andy Reid with him. The ad is featured in an airplane with Reid and State Farm's own, "Jake from State Farm." Reid is seen drawing sharpie mustaches on a player's face as he is sleeping. After Jake tells Reid something about State Farm, you can see Mahomes walk down the aisle of the airplane with a sharpie mustache on him as well. Jake and Reid look at each other and play it off as if Reid doesn't know who is drawing the mustaches on players. The ad was really funny, and more surprising that an NFL head coach was featured in a TV commercial. This is the only time I recall an NFL head coach being in a TV commercial, Reid and Mahomes did a great job.
